A Celebration of Ukrainian Heritage and UNESCO-Recognized Pysanka Art

This 2025 silver commemorative coin, “Easter Joy. Pysanka (c),” pays tribute to the centuries-old Ukrainian tradition of pysanka — the intricate art of decorating Easter eggs. Surrounding the tree is a triangle border, symbolizing the trinity of sky, earth, and water—also reflecting divine harmony and balance.

Additional inscriptions include:
– UKRAINE, the denomination 10₴, the year 2025, the small State Emblem of Ukraine, metal details Ag 999, weight 31.1, and the mint mark of the Banknote Printing and Minting Works of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Reverse Design 

The reverse showcases a traditional pysanka from the Odesa region, known as “Sorokoput” or “Kozachі Levady.” The design is rich in deep symbolism:

• Swarga motifs – one of the most ancient solar symbols in Ukrainian culture, representing light, well-being, harmony, and protection

• Crosses – symbolizing the multidimensional universe and the union of spiritual and material worlds

• Ladders – reflecting spiritual ascension and the soul’s path toward the divine

• Central sun element – a revered emblem of life, warmth, and heavenly fire

• Overlapping Swarga symbols in green and black, outlined in yellow, create an impression of continuous motion and dynamic energy. This is amplified by a central circle, representing the universe and infinity.
