The 2026 Ukrainian 10 UAH commemorative coin set “Inhabitants of the Deep Sea” features two coins dedicated to the marine life of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Issued by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on 21 September 2026, the set includes two 5 UAH coins in Special Uncirculated quality, celebrating the Black Sea scallop and the Sea of Azov mud shrimp.

The first coin, The Sea of Azov. The Mud Shrimp, depicts two mud shrimps, Upogebia pusilla, among seagrass. The second, The Black Sea. The Black Sea Scallop, features three colour-printed Black Sea scallops, Flexopecten ponticus, in their natural sandy habitat. Both designs combine detailed marine imagery with relief wave motifs and outlines of the seas and adjacent Ukrainian territory.

With an actual mintage of 50,000 sets, this Ukrainian coin set brings together marine biodiversity, colourful designs and environmental themes. The two-coin format makes it a relevant addition to collections of Ukrainian coins, sea life, marine wildlife, nature-themed coins and modern world numismatics.
